When it comes to custom ugly sweaters, the popular choices are red and blue and green. That said, a lot of companies would love to try black but feel a little unsure as to whether it will work for an ugly sweater.
Black can look brilliant as a custom ugly sweater and it really comes down to the design. If you're opting for a slogan or a jingle on the sweater, the white font against the black looks amazing and works really well so if you do decide to opt for black, we really recommend the use of white in the design.
If black may be too much of a commitment for the first custom ugly sweater option, navy is a fantastic color to use.
The above sweaters are a very dark navy and you'll see how that works with the design and in particular how it makes the design stand out. It also works really well for mascots and characters on custom ugly sweaters.
If you're still unsure of black/navy please discuss your design options with us. Don't forget you can opt for two tone or color blocking if you'd like to introduce black into your custom ugly sweater design but don't want full black knitwear.
