Brands bring out marketing campaigns for the Holidays in an effort to stand out in a very crowded market. Brands who provide services or sell gifts need to highlight and showcase that through marketing campaigns and one thing people really want around the christmas period is an ugly sweater so using a custom ugly sweater as part of a marketing campaign is a great way to stand out.
Here at Roody Originals, we made the Anchor Christmas Sweaters for their marketing campaign. Their campaign was super as it saw the reintroduction of Anchor’s family of animated characters, the ‘Hugglers’, who first appeared in June 2015. See how cute they are!
Their marketing campaign was based on a "Shake it, squeeze it, win it" promotion. The idea was based on the fact that we all like to shake and try to guess what's inside our christmas gift before christmas has even arrived! To win, consumers go online to enter a code from promotional packs of Anchor Spreadable. Consumers then can shake and squeeze a virtual gift. If their guess is correct , they win a prize! One of which was an awesome custom ugly christmas sweater!
The great thing about their marketing campaign is how interactive it was. Consumers bought the item, then went online and had a chance to play. Due to the excitement, they then tweeted and shared images of their christmas sweater on social media. Anchor also sent some custom ugly sweaters to some of their celebrity fans and celebs like Kara Tointon in turn tweeted images of themselves wearing the custom ugly sweater.
The great part about the sweaters was the immediate impact they had. The quality was great, the colors were so on brand and the detail of the Huggler on the front and the little Anchor logo symbols were brilliant. All in all it was a great marketing campaign and a great custom ugly sweater. We really enjoyed making this one!
